Who Does the Work

When you call for a quote, you're talking to the same people who show up to look at your door. We don't run a call center that passes your job to a subcontractor down the street. There's no anniversary date to recite here and no staff roster to list - just people who work on doors, springs, and openers for houses in this part of the county and who can tell you honestly whether a repair makes sense or whether you're better off replacing the unit.

A lot of the houses we get called to were built between 1947 and 2012, with the typical build year landing around 1963. That matters for a quote because a door from that era often runs on hardware nobody stocks new anymore - different spring winds, different track widths, sometimes a jamb that's shifted over sixty-plus years. We can't quote that kind of job accurately over the phone. We can quote it accurately once someone's stood in front of the door with a tape measure and a torque wrench.

What We Actually Do

We work on torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, cables, rollers, and panel sections - the parts that actually fail on a residential garage door. If a spring snapped overnight and the door won't lift, that's a same-visit diagnosis in most cases. If an opener is grinding, skipping, or won't respond to the remote, we check the logic board, the drive gear, and the sensors before we recommand a swap over a repair.

What we can't do is give you a firm number without seeing the door. A broken torsion spring on a double door in a house from the 1963 building wave might need a straightforward spring swap, or it might turn up worn bearing plates and a bent track behind it - you don't know until the door's open. We also don't do custom fabrication work; if a panel's a discontinued color or profile, we'll tell you that up front rather than quote a guess and miss it. Being straight about that limitation is worth more to you than a fast number that turns out wrong at the door.

Where We Work

We're based out of Manhattan Beach and work the surrounding area, which runs from dense 1960s-70s tract housing to newer infill built as late as 2012. El Segundo is about a mile from us, Lawndale about four miles, and Playa del Rey sits roughly four miles to the north-northwest - close enough that a same-day look at a broken spring is usually realistic in any of those.

Farther out we still cover Marina del Rey (6 mi), West Athens, Ladera Heights, and Westmont (all around 7 mi), View Park-Windsor Hills (8 mi), Palos Verdes Estates, West Rancho Dominguez, and West Carson (around 9 mi), Lomita, Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, and Willowbrook (10-11 mi), and out to Beverly Hills, Vernon, Cudahy, Maywood, Bell, Signal Hill, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Topanga, and Artesia at the longer end of the service area. If you're not sure whether your address falls inside that range, ask when you call - it's a quicker answer than guessing from a map.

Getting Hold of Us

Call 1(424) 563-5925 to start a quote. Have the basics ready if you can: what the door is doing (won't open, opens partway, makes noise, remote's dead), roughly how old the door is, and whether it's a single or double. That's enough for us to know what to bring on the truck, even though the final number still comes from someone looking at the door in person.

We're located at 1112 Ocean Dr, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Across the service area there are roughly 140,166 households, about 39,906 of them owner-occupied - that owner-occupied group is who typically calls us directly, since a rental repair usually routes through a property manager first. If that's your situation, let us know when you call so we quote the right person from the start. You can also find us at /.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Manhattan Beach. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why does my spring keep breaking on an older door?

If your house dates to the 1960s or 70s stock common in this area, the torsion spring has likely already outlived its rated cycle count once or twice through prior replacements. Once the drum, cable, or bearing plate is also original, one new spring often just shifts the strain to the next weak part. We check the whole assembly, not just the spring, before quoting.

Does the coastal air really affect my garage door hardware?

Yes. Being a few miles from Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey means salt-laden air reaches tracks, hinges, and springs faster than in inland areas. Galvanized coatings that would last well in a drier climate band pit and rust sooner here, especially on west-facing doors. We factor that into what we recommend for replacement hardware.

My house was built in the 1960s - is my door probably original?

It's common. A lot of the housing across this service area dates to that window, and original one-piece steel doors on side-mounted torsion hardware still show up regularly. If yours hasn't been touched, we'll check whether the track and spring are rated for the door's actual weight before doing any repair.

Do you work on newer doors too?

Some of the housing stock here runs as late as 2012, so yes - we work on openers and doors installed well after the 1960s wave as often as we work on original hardware. The fix is usually simpler on newer installs since parts are still in production.
