Who Does the Work

Call the number below and you'll talk to someone who can tell you, before a truck ever leaves, what's likely wrong with your door based on what you describe. We're set up at 1112 Ocean Dr, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, and calls get routed from there. If it's a spring, we'll ask which side broke and whether the door will lift by hand. If it's an opener, we'll ask the brand and how old it is. That five-minute conversation usually tells us what to bring, so the first visit is the only visit. We don't do sales scripts or upsell menus over the phone. If your door just needs a roller replaced, that's what we'll quote, not a full replacement.

What We Actually Do

We repair and replace residential garage doors: torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, tracks, hinges, and openers. A lot of the calls we get are tied to the age of the housing here - homes in this part of the county were mostly built between 1947 and 2012, with a median build year of 1963, and a big share of that stock dates to the 1960s and 70s. That means original hardware that's decades past its rated cycle count, and openers that predate current safety-reversal standards. We service what's on the door in front of us. What we don't do is new construction installs where the opening itself needs framing changes - that's a different trade, and we'll tell you so instead of taking the job anyway.

Where We Work

We're based in Manhattan Beach and run jobs out from there. El Segundo is about a mile off, Playa del Rey sits four miles up the coast to the NNW, and Lawndale is roughly four miles inland - all inside a normal same-day radius for us. Beyond that we reach Marina del Rey (6 mi), West Athens and Ladera Heights (7 mi), Westmont (7 mi), View Park-Windsor Hills (8 mi), Palos Verdes Estates and West Rancho Dominguez (9 mi), West Carson (9 mi), Lomita (10 mi), Rolling Hills Estates (10 mi), Rolling Hills (11 mi), Willowbrook (11 mi), and out to Beverly Hills at 12 miles. Past that - Vernon, Cudahy, Maywood, Bell, Signal Hill, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Topanga, and Artesia at 20 miles - we still take calls, but ask up front, since scheduling gets tighter the farther out the address is.

Getting Hold of Us

Phone is (424) 563-5925, and that's the fastest way to get on the schedule. If you can, have the door open (or stuck open, or stuck closed) and know roughly what year the house was built - a lot of this area's doors went up in that 1960s-70s wave, and matching hardware from that era isn't always sitting on a shelf, so knowing the age helps us bring the right parts the first time. Our mailing and shop address is 1112 Ocean Dr, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, though most business happens by phone and at your door, not at the shop. We don't run 24-hour lines, so if it's after hours, leave a message and we'll call back.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Manhattan Beach. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Why does my spring keep breaking on an older door?

If your house dates to the 1960s or 70s stock common in this area, the torsion spring has likely already outlived its rated cycle count once or twice through prior replacements. Once the drum, cable, or bearing plate is also original, one new spring often just shifts the strain to the next weak part. We check the whole assembly, not just the spring, before quoting.

Does the coastal air really affect my garage door hardware?

Yes. Being a few miles from Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey means salt-laden air reaches tracks, hinges, and springs faster than in inland areas. Galvanized coatings that would last well in a drier climate band pit and rust sooner here, especially on west-facing doors. We factor that into what we recommend for replacement hardware.

My house was built in the 1960s - is my door probably original?

It's common. A lot of the housing across this service area dates to that window, and original one-piece steel doors on side-mounted torsion hardware still show up regularly. If yours hasn't been touched, we'll check whether the track and spring are rated for the door's actual weight before doing any repair.

Do you work on newer doors too?

Some of the housing stock here runs as late as 2012, so yes - we work on openers and doors installed well after the 1960s wave as often as we work on original hardware. The fix is usually simpler on newer installs since parts are still in production.
