Questions Homeowners Ask Before They Call Us

Answers on who fixes your door, what parts we handle, and how far we travel from our Manhattan Beach shop before you pick up the phone.

Do you work on garage doors outside Manhattan Beach?

Yes. We regularly cover El Segundo, Lawndale, Marina del Rey, Playa del Rey, and a ring of other communities out to about ten miles, with a smaller number of calls farther out toward Beverly Hills, Artesia, and similar distances. Call and give your address and we'll tell you straight away whether it's a normal trip for us.

My house is from the 1960s - will you have the right parts?

Probably. A lot of the housing stock in this area dates to the 1960s and 70s, so we see original torsion hardware and side-mount brackets from that era often. What sometimes takes longer is a specialty opener model that isn't common stock - we'll tell you on the call if that's the case.

Is a broken spring an emergency?

It's urgent in the sense that you shouldn't force the door open or closed once a spring has gone, but it's not usually a middle-of-the-night call. Tell us what you're seeing or hearing and we'll help you decide whether it needs same-day attention or can wait a day.

Do you replace doors or only repair them?

We do both, but we won't push a full replacement when a repair - new rollers, a spring set, cable replacement - will get the door running properly again. If the door itself is sound, we'll say so, even when a replacement would be the easier sale.

How do I reach you?

Call (424) 563-5925. We're based at 1112 Ocean Dr in Manhattan Beach, and that's where quotes, scheduling, and parts questions all start - no ticket system or chat queue in between.

Who Does the Work

When you call, the person who shows up is the one who does the repair. There's no dispatcher routing you to a subcontractor across the county. We work out of Manhattan Beach, at 1112 Ocean Dr, and the jobs we take are the ones we can get to and stand behind in person.

We don't run a call center that books jobs for a network of unrelated crews. If a job needs a part we don't stock, we say so up front instead of guessing at a fix. That's the one honest limit worth naming here: some specialty openers and older imported hardware take longer to source than a same-day call would suggest, and we'd rather tell you that on the phone than after we've opened your garage.

Most of what comes through the door is ordinary residential work - springs, openers, tracks, panels - on houses built across a wide span of decades, which means we see a lot of different hardware generations in a single week.

What We Actually Do

Torsion springs that have let go on a double-wide door. Extension springs on older single doors. Broken rollers, bent tracks, cables that have frayed through, openers that grind, chatter, or just stop responding to the remote. Panel damage from a car bumper or a gate mistake.

The housing stock in this part of the county runs from 1947 through 2012, with a lot of it dating to the 1960s and 70s. That spread matters on a service call: a house built in the early 60s is more likely to still have its original torsion hardware on a side-mount bracket, while a newer build has a modern extension or belt-drive setup. We work on both, but we bring different parts depending on which era we're walking into.

What we don't do is pretend every door needs replacing. If a spring job and a new set of rollers gets you another decade out of a door that's otherwise sound, that's what we'll say, even if a full replacement pays better.

Where We Work

We're based in Manhattan Beach and stay close to it. El Segundo is about a mile away, Lawndale roughly four miles out, and Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey both sit within six miles to the north. Beyond that ring we cover West Athens, Ladera Heights, Westmont, View Park-Windsor Hills, Palos Verdes Estates, West Rancho Dominguez, West Carson, and Lomita, all within about ten miles.

Farther out - Rolling Hills Estates, Rolling Hills, Willowbrook, Beverly Hills, Vernon, Cudahy, Maywood, Bell, Signal Hill, Bell Gardens, Commerce, Topanga, and Artesia - we still take calls, but travel time factors into scheduling more than it does for the closer streets.

The climate across this whole stretch is mild temperate, which is easier on garage door hardware than a region with hard freezes or heavy humidity swings - springs and openers here tend to fail from age and cycle count rather than weather damage, which is part of why straightforward wear-and-tear repairs make up most of the work.

Getting Hold of Us

Call (424) 563-5925. If you're not sure whether what you're hearing - a bang, a grinding opener, a door that won't close all the way - is a same-day problem or something that can wait, say so on the phone and we'll tell you which it is before we schedule anything.

We're at 1112 Ocean Dr in Manhattan Beach, and that's also where quotes and parts questions start. We don't run a web chat or a ticket queue; a phone call gets you a person who can tell you what a repair on your specific door and opener generation is likely to run before a truck ever leaves.
